The Queen Mary Law Society consists of a yearly elected Committee made up of current law students from all years. The main task of the Law Society is to assist students within the Department of Law with all aspects of their study.
Whether it's second year and third year Committee members assisting first year students in feeling comfortable and confident in a new environment and a new course, or just advising fellow students on how to find a law firm placement, we are here to help.
The Society organises events, both academic and social, from our annual boat party to networking events with major law firms.
Networking with legal professional forms an important part of our work in building a presence for Queen Mary Law Graduates and our Society members within the legal profession. As a member of our Society you can benefit from our contacts and well-established reputation.
Of course, the fact that we are studying law does not mean we all want to be lawyers, and so we provide information and encourage discussion in all areas where legal staff are employed, such as government posts or investment banking.
The Queen Mary Law Society believes strongly in community and creating a supportive environment in which students within the Department of Law can share their experiences and discuss problems.
